DENTIFICATION AND GRADING REPORTS

IGI Diamond Identification Reports
The IGI Diamond Identification Report attests to the authenticity of a loose (unmounted) diamond and provides a reliable and accurate statement of its identity and grade based on an internationally recognized system.

Each diamond is scientifically analyzed by several gemologists who use their experience and state-of-the-art equipment to produce an accurate description of the characteristics of the diamond and the quality of its cut. With its detailed information presented in understandable language, the different qualities of a diamond can be truly appreciated.

The grade or quality of a diamond is based on four characteristics commonly referred to as "the Four Cs". They are the Carat weight, Color, Clarity and Cut. These attributes are analyzed and the results are recorded in the IGI Diamond Report.

IGI Colored Stone Identification Reports
The IGI Colored Stone Identification Report is based on a loose (unmounted) colored stone analysis designed to identify the species and variety of a colored gem. Since new state-of-the-art techniques are constantly being developed and applied to alter and treat rubies, sapphires, emeralds and other stones, our scientific approach is of the utmost importance to ensure optimum reliability.

Techniques such as stone coating by diffusion treatment in addition to sophisticated developments in creating synthetic gems are becoming more and more widespread. It is for this reason that the IGI Report clearly states whether the stone is natural or synthetic as well as providing other data relating to its shape and cut, weight, measurements, color and transparency and other major optical characteristics, including treatments, if any.

IGI's patented process of "laserscribing" your diamond enables you to know first hand if a stone is yours.

IGI's unique ability to laser inscribe numbers, indicia, trademarks and logos on the girdle of a diamond allow you the ability to easily identify your diamond.

When laserscribed with its IGI report number, a diamond will always be trackable through IGI's Registration and Recovery Service if the stone or the IGI certificate or disk are misplaced.

You can also laserscribe personal messages onto the girdle of the stone. Try "I love you" messages and dates as an inscription for your loved ones!

This United States patented process is permanent and does not impair the diamonds quality in any way.
