How to Submit Gemstones and Jewelry to IGI

Whether you are new to International Gemological Institute (IGI) and its services or have taken advantage of IGI's benefits before, it's easy to have gemstones and jewelry identified, authenticated and graded by IGI If you would like an IGI Security Submission Kit or need more submission forms (Client Agreement), please follow the instructions below.

A. Order Submission Kit
Order this pre-packaged kit, which includes: a pre-addressed mailer (security mailing box), padding (bubble wrap), security tape (tamper-proof seals), and submission forms (client agreement). It's a quick, easy and safe way to obtain the materials needed in order to send in your gemstones and jewelry safely and securely. Order the kit here for only $5 (postage included) for home or office delivery.

B. Submitting by user without Submission Kit
To send your gemstones and jewelry without a submission kit, following the instructions below:
1. Fill in Client Agreement. (print out, fill in and mail with gemstones and or jewelry)

2. Send your gemstones and jewelry with a signed copy of the client agreement to:

• By US Mail / Overnight Carrier

1. U.S. Postal Service - Please insure, register and request a return receipt. Maximum insurance $ 25,000.
2. UPS / FedEx - Does not ship loose stones. Mounted jewelry only. Maximum insurance 
   UPS $ 50,000. FedEx $ 25,000.

•  By Secured and Armored Transportation

3. Malca-Amit / Dunbar / Brinks - Will ship loose and or mounted jewelry. Maximum insurance $1,000,000.

3. Insure your gemstones and jewelry for an amount that you would be happy with if your jewelry were lost by a carrier.

4. Upon receipt of your package, an IGI representative will contact you by e-mail and/or telephone to acknowledge receipt of package, to confirm the report fee, and to give you the estimated time of completion. At this time, if all does not meet with your approval, we will send articles back to you and bill you for the cost of the services estimate (see Estimate of Services Fee).

5. All gems and jewelry with the IGI report(s) will be returned to you in the same manner as received.  Postage and insurance is not included in report fee and will be invoiced to you.
